Ext Cab subs!
Hey folks, I curently have a 10" sub in my ext cab and it is sitting on the backseat, it sounds pretty good and dilivers good base but I want more! I was wondering if it was posible to fit 2 12's under the seat after you remove the tool box, I took my toolbox out and looked under there and it looks doable I am just not sure if the box will be big enough to sound good. I have 2 12" pioneer subs sitting around and Im getting more and more anxios over this. Id just like to see what you guys have and to see whats posible? Maybe some photos tooo if you could! Thanks

Re: Ext Cab subs!
I have 2 10s under that back seat of my 92, if the box was a little bigger it could fit 12s. mine fits completely under the seat, so i think with 12s it would have to stick out a little.

Re: Ext Cab subs!
You can buy boxes to sit underneath the back seat. They'll fit 12's or 10's. Couple hundred bucks. I don't know about all boxes, or if they vary with sub sizes, but the one for my 12's does stick out a couple inches, robbing some leg room, but not too terribly bad. Worthwhile investment, since you can keep a couple subs in there, keeping them off the seat or floor, and thus out of the way and people's feet off them, plus they sound good and look good doing their purpose.
A side note, my box is for a 99-02 Chevy, so it's kinda an iffy fit over the trans hump, but it fits well. 88-98 boxes should fit better. And if you really want pics, I can run out and take some.

Yeah I've got two 10s under my back seat. Sound pretty good. 12s would be tight.

Re: Ext Cab subs!
I custom built the box for my 10 under the drivers side of the rear, and to get the necessary internal volume, the box sticks out about an inch or so. If you want to go with 12's, it should be pretty easy to make it fit without sticking out too much. You should be able to make the box yourself, just be mindful of your speaker choice when you build it, as some speakers require different internal volumes than others. Also, if you are porting the box, then subs generally have different requirements for porting vs. a sealed enclosure.
