Honestly that doesn’t surprise me that much. Everyone seems to think they are made of gold over the last few years. Hate to see what he’d sell extremes for.

Most wouldn't notice, even if you bolted them to your hood like a pair of emblems.

Some idiot will talk the guy down to $850 and think he got a bargain.

Yea, I regret using the word "idiot" when describing somebody who would pay that much for a couple of towing hooks, but I forget that there are plenty of purists on this forum.

To each his own.

Re: Holy cow..!

You guys talk like you never saw a part for these trucks go for a ridiculous amount of money. I get amazed when I see a highly desirable part go for a reasonable price.

Re: Holy cow..!

Is it my imagination, or are those both from one side?
What makes these hooks so valuable?
I don’t have a K-10/20, and I don’t need any extra parts that I’ll never use, so I’m not at all interested, but just curious.

Re: Holy cow..!

They are relatively uncommon but not $1000 uncommon. Hooks have gone thru the roof over the last 4-5 years. These things were 2-300 at most a couple years ago. To be honest I wonder if he’s a member here, he had the knowledge to list the hardware and mention the stampings on the hooks, and that they are forged. In my experience the average 67-72 guy away from this site doesn’t normally know the importance of all of those details.

As a side note, that’s a pretty nice spid he has pictured. Interesting that it has all those cool options like the camper stuff, tilt, tach, hooks, manual throttle, auxiliary tank,no spin etc. but it doesn’t have lock in hubs, Or even ac for that matter. I love seeing how people ordered these trucks.

Re: Holy cow..!

Been watching prices for a while, these should sell for $600 since they aren’t extreme bend (you can tell the difference because the extreme point parallel to the mounting holes and point the same direction)

Extremes regularly sell for $800-$1200 - I sure wouldn’t pay that but to each their own

Re: Holy cow..!

To provide closure to this thread: the hooks sold for $828.13 after tax and shipping in less than two weeks on EBay.

When I bought my new to me K20 with factory hooks, I thought they were cool but not $800 plus cool hence why I put them up for sale. I can put that money towards more important fixes on the truck which are of more concern.

The truck does have some interesting options. It has old school Warn hubs on it so I am thinking maybe they were added at the dealer since locking hubs aren’t on the spid? Who knows.

WOW!

Heck I wouldn't even put a motor or transmission in my truck.

I'd have it towed all over the country just to get my $828.13 worth out of those dang hooks!

Re: Holy cow..!

I figured the crazy prices of these would fall now that they are being reproduced in the aftermarket industry.
