Wheel bearing question 10bolt front.

My 1977 K10 has the 10 bolt front end. Originally it had drive cogs as it was full time 4x4. They where removed and a set of super winch hubs installed 2 years ago.

My question is this:
On one side I have a cup washer between the hub nut and the outer wheel bearing. I believe it served as a pocket for the cog spring which is no longer there. In addition it helps keep the grease on the outer wheel bearing. The one on the drivers side the lip was chewed off. This allows grease to leave the bearing and go everywhere inside the hub. On all the online diagrams i have seen I cannot find this metal cupped piece. The parts store does not have it listed either.

What is the cupped piece that goes between the hub nut and outer wheel bearing called?
Is it needed?
Any idea where to get a new one.

I might try the junkyard tomorrow but would be nice to have a new one.

It's been years sence I worked on that axle but I do recal seeing what yer sayin..it's like a washer but cuped. Yes, you can run without it, pack the hell outof yer wheelbearings and the grease that works towards the hub isn't going to be a problem. I put WB grease all over my hub's guts and coat the back side that faces the WB, figure if all the "space" is filled w/grease it can't go anywere.
I don't know the name of the washer and I too could never find them for resale so ran without..
