Emissions Override Relay Wiring?

I picked up a '86 Chevrolet C30 CCDRW with a 454. The PO did a number on the wiring harness, so I pulled the engine harness and am in the processing of cleaning it up.

What I have left is wiring for 2 modules that I am trying to determine what they are (included pictures below). The numbers off the modules are:

14094774

14087500

After some research I am thinking the 14087500 is an "Emissions override relay" and the 14094774 is an "Electronic brake control" relay.
Are either one of these accurate?

Also, I am in the process of cleaning up the wiring to them and for module 14087500 it has a 5-wire weatherpack connector where in my case
- Yellow and brown wires have been cut
- Black wire has been crimped together with the other black wire from the other module for a ground.
- White wire runs to the plug that goes into the HEI distributor
- Pink wire runs into the other module connector.

Does anyone know what any of these plugs do and if I can re-wire the harness to remove one or both? Thanks for all the help.

14087500 See http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=616003

14094774 controls the Malfunction Indicator Lamp and maybe the BRAKE lamp on the instrument panel.

Doncha just love the Red Green style wiring fixes you find on older rigs.

Those plugs are Metripak. Probably Metripak 150 but they could be Metripak 280 series. You should be able to find both modules in the 1986 wiring diagrams. The part number for the connectors is in the wiring diagrams and it should tell you exactly what they are and where the wires are routed.

..Hatzie just the man for the job as always...

I had come across that link for 7500. According to that, that module is for a 350 not for the 454.

Would it be possible to re-wire the harness to bypass these modules?

Re: Emissions Override Relay Wiring?

Bumping this - has anyone removed this completely out of their harness? Anyone who did a swap?

Re: Emissions Override Relay Wiring?

I never had a truck with either one of them so I'm not going to be much help.
