Are 1978 Crew Cab's all removable trans tunnels?

I recently picked up a 1974 Suburban K20 for cheap, previous owner swapped an 89 Suburban front clip, doors, dash/gauge cluster, steering column and a few other things onto the truck before I got it. He did a piss-poor job splicing in the 89 headlamps and parking lamps, and there's plenty of loose wiring hanging down under the dash, and literally all the wiring/vacuum stuff on the firewall is cut and missing. I eventually planned to do a crew cab swap onto the frame to make a truggy out of it whenever I got the time and money to throw at it and whenever I found a good cab. I have a line on a 1978 C30 for cheap. Straight front end, wiring and vacuum stuff is all there, its all ready to rock. The carpet is there and clean. It's a 2 wheel drive TH400 truck (don't know if the trans is original, don't recall when the first year for the TH400 in squares was, but the trans is a 400). I'm trying to find out if it has a removable trans hump. My Suburban is a 4 speed so it has a removable high hump, the crew cab I can't tell, the guy asked me not to pull the carpet up cuz its in good shape and said I'd have to buy it first. IF it is, it's a screaming deal and I can get my 70's stuff back in there, 70's clip back on it, and have all the correct wiring for it ready to rock and roll, all for cheaper than a replacement harness from Painless. I'd probably keep the cab for later and just get the suburban running for now.

So guys, 1978 2 wheel drive auto crew cabs, do they have the removable hump or no? I'd prefer not to buy a truck and cut the trans tunnel out if I can avoid it, but if I have to the suburban does have the hump I need so, yeah, either way?

Any insight would be much appreciated!

you might even be able to look down the back of the engine and see if you can see bolts...maybe he could do this or get you a pic of this area...I can see the leading edge bolts on mine this way

Thanks, I actually went out to my Suburban and I can see what you're talking about totally.

SO I did some Googling and found a thread with some different pictures of different trucks. The first picture was a 1978 C20 auto truck bare floor. Looks like its not going to work for me, at least not without a body lift. Not really something I'm looking to do. So its looking like I might pass on that truck, though I'm tempted to grab it just for the front clip and dash/gauges/steering column and etc. But I wouldn't want to take the truck and scrap it... it would be a great candidate for a 2 wheel drive half ton crew cab street truck. I'd love to build it but I have plenty of other **** to pay for right now and want my offroad truck built lol.
