Deluxe Heater FS

$50.00 plus shipping. All cables there. Good shape other than needs a lever. Can remove heater core and/or fan motor if wish. That may help with shipping, but still be around $25.00 I would assume. Looks like the ends on HC are dinged up. Reply in thread please.

Re: Deluxe Heater FS

Interested in your offer. My 66 is fairly rusted with beginning separation at the air box and fan housing metals. Can you tell if yours is not so rusted.
Another question when looking at yours.... Do you know what that hole in the fan motor houseing is for ?
Mine has no such hole.
Thanks
Paul

Re: Deluxe Heater FS

I have no idea what the hole is for. I do know that the '65 parts truck I have has that hole and my '66 new fan motor also has it. If I don't sell it at the swap meet tomorrow- will post some better pics and go from there.

Re: Deluxe Heater FS

Thanks for info and looking.
All very confusing though
So if i add factory a/c to the truck (i.e. Where the vents are added to the original ash tray location), how does the heat system tie in to all of this? Whats the difference between the standard 1 knob heater control and the deluxe? Sorry for all the questions,

I guess i dont know which direction to go

Sorry, not familiar enough with the A/C System to answer.
Whats the difference between the standard 1 knob heater control and the deluxe?
Single knob:
The heat control is done by pulling the knob out.
Fan speed is controlled by turning the knob.
To switch from defrost to heat is done by a lever on the box right above the trans hump.
Deluxe:
Has three levers- one controls fan speed, one controls heat level and the other switches between defrost and heat.
Here are the two deluxe controls I have right now. Levers will need to be replaced. Have two new cables that go with. $35.00 shipped if you are interested.

I THINK....

Standard heater is either on or off - no modulation of temperature. Often it is too cold in the cab with heat off, but turning on the heat is then too hot.

Deluxe heater has a blend door with control cables, allowing you to adjust the temperature of the incoming heated air.

That's what I think, anyways.......
