OUCH! I saw the article in the new Custom Classic Trucks magazine about the 9+ rearend they put under a 72. It is an all new 9" that comes ready to bolt in for your application, disc brakes, e-cable, the whole works. I sent off for a price quote this morning just to compare against finding an old one in a yard and redoing it.

Here is there reply:

A complete rear with our new 9+ round back housing, forged alloy 31 spline large bearing axles, complete 11" disc brake set up with parking brake and parking brake cables, GM 5 or 6 lug bolt pattern, posi 3rd. member with gears of your choice, trailing arm brackets installed, panhard rod bracket installed, new adjustable panhard rod, and new bolt on panhard rod frame bracket, and full assembly of the unit would run 2351.65.

Sounds nice, but I think I can find one off an old Lincoln and go completely through it, have it modified for my trailering arms and be around 500.00.

There is a yard in Lock Haven PA thats has $hit loads of them at $50 a piece. I picked up a 69 gto rear 4 pin 355 posi for 50 drum to drum. Its hard to deal with the old guy but stop and see him a few times to chat and he will help ya, plenty! I know he has a 68 wrecker complete I want to look at soon as my knee is better

That 2300 sounds steep but for everything including new 11" discs(lincolns have smaller discs), 31 spline HD axles(weaker 28 spline from factory),new posi(not all came w/posi),your choice of gears(most came w/3.00)+ adj panhard bar it's not that steep vs. the upgrades unless you have already got some of the parts on the truck.

Yes, I got the quote from Currie Enterprises. I would love to do this, but I was hoping to have a complete rolling chasis for less than just this axle combo....
