I'm in the middle of putting in a rear mounted gas tank. I don't have brackets for a rear bumper so have no idea how far down the rear bumper hangs. Can anyone get a quick measurement from the bottom of the frame to the bottom of a sport bumper? I just don't want the gas tank hanging way below the bumper.

in my experience, if you're running a blazer tank, you're gonna see a lot of the tank from under the bumper.
on any of the tanks you'll be able to see some of the tank peeking under the bumper, except maybe the custom made tanks. I'm even running a 15 gallon lil wrangler tank and I can still see it

I got a 16 gallon tank from tanks, inc. in hopes it wouldn't be hanging down much

Paint tank in black undercoating. Then it will look more like a spare tire hanging under there.

It's going to depend upon how your bumper mounts, the size/shape of the tank and whether it's a short wheel base or long. My bumper was custom made and my truck is a swb which means the 32 gal tank was close to the differential, causing me to mount it higher for clearance.

I can't get you a measurement tonight but here are some photos that may help. They are of the factory tank on my Burban. Hope it helps. It looks as if your tank is closer to the frame's lower edge than mine is. In the last photo you barely see the fuel tank underneath if you look carefully but I never see otherwise.
