Re: Front spindle interchange Question

I took the front suspension from a 72 c10, To use in my 68 stepside.
But I believe you can go as high as an 86 or 87

Re: Front spindle interchange Question

With a lower control arms from a 3/4 ton truck73-87 you can use spindles from a 88-98 c2500 [without C6P] 7200gvw. Those spindles are capable of taking either 5 lug rotor or 6 lug rotors. you will need the upper balljoint from the same model as the spindle and rotors and calipers. The late model balljoints have the same bolt pattern as the old truck ones so that will be a bolt on. Now back to the 73 -87 lca's they have the same size hole as the balljoint for the 88-98 spindle. So make a list go to the junk yard and get greasy!! Jim

Re: Front spindle interchange Question

You can keep your present control arms and run stock 71-up spindles just by changing the ball joints. However it will probably be less work to swap the control arms and shafts too. The only problem with doing this is that you run into a mismatch on the tie rod ends. The cheap fix is to grab the center link while you are at the salvage yard picking up the spindles.
