I don't know about their M2, but everything I've bought from Speedway has been good quality. They carry a lot of parts that nobody else has.

In talking to other people there are a lot of people that, surprisingly have never heard of Speedway. I like their stuff and most of it is cheaper than the other guys.

I think Blackdiesel used a speedway kit you might want to PM him and ask him. Here is the link to his build

Re: speed way mustangg 2 suspension

If I'm reading it right that is for the kit, then you order the crossmember off a separate page to go with those pieces. I poked around the kit page and didn't figure it out yet but that is the way it reads.

From http://www.speedwaymotors.com/Mustan...DisplayId=2089

Crossmember NOT included - Add proper crossmember to complete kit.
You must specify POWER or MANUAL in the comments secton when checking out.
You must specify the desired spring rate in the comments section when checking out: 700 lbs, 600 lbs, 500 lbs, or 375 lbs.

There kit's are truck specific they even have a new kit that is a bolt on for AD trucks.

I figure that I will have 10 to 15 hours in just getting the boxing plates and crossmember trimmed, fitted and welded in. Hopefully my son will show up to do the finish welding after I get everything tacked in place and checked out.

I saw that and wish I had ordered that crossmember instead of the one I have. That would have saved me a lot of hours.

I changed my post before I saw your answer so that's why it looks a bit odd for your quote if anyone wonders.

Re: speed way mustangg 2 suspension

The bolt in ones go in pretty nice and work great for guys who don't have a welder or don't weld. The price runs the same as buying a weld in and paying to have it welded in in the long run.
In some states, provinces and countries where modifying suspension might be frowned upon especially if it is welded on the bolt on setups may get through inspections a lot easier than weld in units.

Re: speed way mustangg 2 suspension

We just installed a speedway M2 in my 59 and went together well, and so far no quality problems. Everything fit great. I did the coil-overs and may have to go to a little heavier coils--Not done tuning up suspension yet. I have a triangulated four link in rear with coil-overs also. The only thing to watch is, I went with 2 inch dropped spindles, and the front end is pretty low. Be careful to figure out how low you want your ride to be!! The bottom of my frame rail in the front to the ground is 7.5 inches right now 225-55-17 tires.

Re: speed way mustangg 2 suspension

At 7.5" that is low. Could you give us a rear measurement? And what size rear tire are you running? Speedway has been in business for many years. They have to be doing something right, and quality would have to be there over that many years.

Re: speed way mustangg 2 suspension

check out my build thread I used it and like it, I startered out with the 2" drop spindles and it was to low with out notching the frame in the rear to get it close to level. But you can see the whole prossess of putting it in on my thread.

Re: speed way mustangg 2 suspension

The measurement on the rear end of my truck,(right now) is 17 inches from bottom of frame rail at the rear of the truck to the ground. That's without gas in the tank (rear frame mounted). The tires are 255/50/17 on the rear. I had the front tire size wrong, they are 225/50/17s (sorry bout that). I may have a problem in the rear with the top of the rearend about 2.5 inches from hitting the bed floor. So again be careful with your ride height. I am now having a few issues. Truck not on the rode yet!

Re: speed way mustangg 2 suspension

dont buy speedways bolt in front crossmember it wont go around the outside of the frame rails im taking the one i bought back. spent over an hour trying to get it to fit. to make it fit i would have to cut the outside tab off to make it fit . going to keep the weld in crossmember i have and put it in.
