I bought some similar to these off of EvilBay:

Re: Glock's official "Project 68" build thread

OK, last pics of the exhaust! I'm sure everyone is getting tired of seeing exhaust pictures!

I now have both sides done, just need to bend the hangers over and tack weld, the remove and paint, and reinstall. Now comes the part I have NOT looking forward to..... finishing the body work on the cab

Re: Glock's official "Project 68" build thread

Well, I got the inner fenders installed last night. The passenger side fits real nice, but I will need to open up the holes going around the fender on the driver side. Other than that, they sorta fell in place.

Also worked on the grill. Nothing real drastic. Anyone who knows these trucks should immediately notice the changes. But the average Joe, I doubt, will ever notice the changes.

The last pic shows some of the small parts I have powdercoated with a chrome powder. Now that I have the old oven set up in the shop, I can get some larger parts done now.

Also decided that I will not use the cowl hood (hint, hint, it's now for sale or trade!). I decided to go back to a stock hood. Anyone one know where I can find a nice one? I really hate to use the one off of my pristine 68 K10 front clip.

Nice

Do you plan to paint the truck assembled or dis-assembled?

Looks like you did away with the bowtie emblem holes? Is there more?

.
You used an "upper" removeable grill piece (what the heck are these pieces called ) to replace the lower one that had the turn signal ridge thingys. I thought about this myself, but with my new fog light front bumper, I didn't know where to put the turn signals. You also removed the bumpouts and holes for the bowtie at the center of the grill. One of them things that would go unnoticed, but just look great!

What are you going to do for front turn signals? 71-72 front bumper?

Looks great so far!

Yeah, what he said! Not sure what the "proper" name for them are either.

I will do that, plus use clear lenses with the amber bulbs. I thought about using a 67-70 bumper and cut some funky shape in it and mount turn signals behind the holes, but the cost to re-chrome it ruled that out.

I will completely disassemble it. I put it all together so I could fit everything just right, adjust any holes that needed opened up, and fix body lines and gaps.

That, and I just wanted to see my truck back together after a year and a half of just being a frame!!!!

Oh yeah, nice eye. I've seen that done a few times now.

I was thinking the same thing you did. I kind of like the lamps there. The ambers do look good with the chrome trim, then again you could always get clear lenses...

Re: Glock's official "Project 68" build thread

I have the clear lenses for the stock lights. I am also going to paint the original lower section......just in case I decide that I don't like that look, then I can put the other insert back in and swap bumpers.

The PO I bought my truck from did that change. I am just changeing it back.
A great guy on here sent me a OEM bottom piece for free!

I bought the clear lens and want to put them in the right way.
I had drilled out some holes in the bottom one and put the orange ones in there. But now I'm doing it the right way. Can't wait to see it with the clear lens.

Here is a pic of the old set up

Re: Glock's official "Project 68" build thread

Glock - looks great and I think it will look best without the cowl. Although I love the cowl hoods, the look best at home on the camaro and for some reason they just don't look like they quite belong on 67-72 trucks....just my opinion.

By the way, your plane ticket to Northern California is in the mail, fridge is full of cold ones and the mig is warmed up and ready for you (to do my exhaust please)!!!

Re: Glock's official "Project 68" build thread

SactoJim - I agree about the hood. Funny you mention coming out there! I was just through Sacramento about a month ago. Me and a buddy took a road trip to Ripon. He bought a WWII halftrack from a cop there. We left work on a Friday afternoon about 5PM, drove straight through and got to Sacramento about 10:30 Saturday morning. Went on to Ripan and loaded the halftrack and drove back to Wendover, Nevada and stayed Saturday night there. Got up early Sunday and went the rest of the way home. WHEW, I was pooped!!!!

I did really like the Sierras...... I wonder if I could talk the wife into a trip.....

Re: Glock's official "Project 68" build thread

I could've used that halftrack to better deal with traffic in the Sacto area! That's alot of miles to travel to the exciting town of Ripon (I used to date a girl that lived in that area). Your buddy restoring that halftrack or are you gonna use it to build the ultimate 67-72?

Yeah, those Sierras are beautiful and we go up as much as possible, if fact we are going up this weekend to see a concert in South Lake Tahoe. I grew up in the Omaha area and have been here +20 years and still have to pinch myself when we go up there.....truly God's country.

Of course, Colorado surely is beautiful in it's own right.

Re: Glock's official "Project 68" build thread

He's going to restore it. He does WWII reinactments, and has built and sold a few, but this one he says he will keep (yeah, right!). We have built 3 semi-auto 1919A4 Browning machine guns and 1 semi-auto M2HB machine gun for this truck. They are all set up to fire blanks, or can be changed out to fire live ammo. Needless to say, they are fun!

Re: Glock's official "Project 68" build thread

I did a little work on the interior today. I've been needing to finishing cutting the dash for the A/C vent, stereo, and HVAC control panel. The two rectangles below and to either side of the HVAC are spots marked out for the two billet cup holders that have yet to have been ordered.

Also met two more board members today. ChevyDude and Lemield came up this morning. Alex and I did some swapping of parts. Also, another board member, Uncle, bought a truck from my Dad Thursday, so he was here til about 10pm that night. Good to meet everyone!!!

I'm starting to agree! Even Bryce likes the idea now, and he would always get mad at me if I suggested any other color than the dark blue. So if I have him convinced, then I think the decision has been made
