Re: Building the damn yankee

yes i used a ROTO BORE spotweld cutter to make the holes in my floorpan to do my plugwelds. The pilot hole is.125 thats the same size as the pilot in the roto bore. this works better than a piloted drill bit. the drillbit pulls the pan up a little when it goes thru it and you have to bump it back down.
As for blowerbelt slippage. i believe thats just because the 144 B&M blower has a relitively small capacity.Weiand states that this blower pulls best in the lower rpms. A big blower will pull harder on the top end because they are usually underdriven this little blower is overdriven. i will deffinately make sure my belt tensoin is right, thanks for the heads up. v/r Phipp

Re: Building the damn yankee

phipp13....gonna be a nice ride and motor makes great power to the rear wheels.

I have a similar setup and had the opportunity to have the motor dynoed before install, but I opted not to....wish I would've. I was curious as to other specs of your motor if you don't mind sharing......carb, cam, static compression.

Someday I need to get mine on a chassis dyno.

thx...

Hey you damn yankee how do the clamps work with the wing nuts? I've never seen them before. Do they work like the clieco clips with out the pliers? The cab is looking good.

Re: Building the damn yankee

10/4/09 The Damn Yankee is back under construction!!!! . She got sidelined earlier this year/ spring for other higher priority projects and $$$. the 52 f1 build for my wife, our fishing boat and a very interesting 2001 Honda insight build. check it out @ www.redlightracing.org . now that the coast is clear and everyone is happy ( the misses) i can get back to the mistress. i shook the bushes really hard and out came a set of old skool centerline rims 15x5s and 15x14s, with that set came a set of 29x18.5x15 MT Sportsmans and 26x7.5x15MT's as well. a little box fell off the truck with a pair of QA1 Promastar coilovers. LIFE IS GOOD!!! the ol prostreet has got a second wind!! Now with the last of the big puzzle peices in place i can AND WILL get back to some serious building. more pics will be forthcomming. STAY TUNED
