46 Cab swap

I have a 69 short bed frame that is complete, and I can get a 46 cab for cheap. Has anyone here done this or have ever seen this type swap made? Just wondering?

Re: 46 Cab swap

The 69 is way too wide. The front suspension is going to put your front tires right at the fender edge. Depending on the wheels you could end up with them outside the fender opening.
This is one that is on a 63-66 c-10. Look how wide it is even with wheels with serious backspacing.

Re: 46 Cab swap

Has anyone tried it with a 55-59 frame? It should be a little narrower.

Maybe look at an S10 frame.Lots of 49-54 trucks are using them. They should be narrower and might be close enough to make the grade.Add to that the engine swap kits for a smallblock and R&P steering, modern brakes and you could have a winner real quick.Heck for a cruiser the 4.3 might even be the ticket.
