Anyone know of rebuild book I could check out for a 503? Anyone have info such as dry shipping weight or physical demensions? Are rebuild kits still readily available? Any salvage yards that specializes in old gmc stuff?

I'm pretty sure I read a long thread about an outfit that rebuilt their 503 fire truck on the stove bolt forum. Even a video when they started it up - pretty awesome! Check that site out and bet you'll find some info.
