Truck Nicknames? And a color question - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

Do you guys have nicknames for your trucks? If so post a picture and tell us about it, where it came from and whatnot. I'm trying to figure out what to call my GMC.

Also, my truck is gonna be navy blue, and I have a chrome grille up front. Question is, until I get/find a chrome front bumper, should the bumper be white or the navy blue color of the truck?

From the factory, the painted front bumpers were an off-white.

If you are going with a Navy Blue color, you should call your truck

Ol Navy

Also, you should have a moderator move this topic to the paint & body forum or the general discussion forum...you will get more replies, if it is not in the Parts for Sale forum.

The original owner of our truck named her Old Yeller when new. After we transformed her to a street rod configuration she was renamed Diane, just because it seem to fit.

My first truck, a 71, was named Ol' Betsy...my Dad named her...it just always stuck. He seemed to name every thing we owned

Most of people on here know her as the "Chief".....

My kids call it the "Rock-a-Billy" as well as friends and co-workers.

I guess because of the ratty, flat-black & wide-white tire look.

And when I get tickets, I call it "A Piece of F#@KING $#IT !!!!!"

Mine is ol Curt. The truck was originally my grandpas and his name was Curt. It is ironic I ended up with the truck. It was given to my dad...but not so much as an heirloom but as a hauler. My grandpa also gave me my first car....a 62 Olds f85...a grandpa looking car that afforded me lots of fun as it was small yet had a 215 aluminum block v8. I outran a 383 Roadrunner after school one day. It was great that most of the buses and classmates saw it. It was not so great when it got back to my parents from one of the busdrivers!

I call mine the "Beast" from Marvel because of the 305 V-6 she has. I may make a small decal for the back window.

Lilred, he'd prob. have to pay some royalties to Old Navy, if he named her that.
