Its been in one family since new and has been garaged from day one, very minor visible rust. Its been touched up several time over the years but I don't see much evidence of bondo or covered up rot. But you never know till is media blasted

Re: 1949-50 3100

Not yet. Should be in about 3 weeks but here is a side view with just some old P185-15 wheels on it. The motor and trans aren't in it and it doesn't have the final springs in it so its going to drop it about 2-3 more inches

Its those "maybe I'll do ....." that turns a 1 year project into the 10 year project.

That is why we call them projects ! ! !
Sometime you just never ever get done with a project ! !
When you start with a bare shell n a lot of ideals it just take time to think it out.

I have a 15 year project going now, the only good thing is that with all the changes mid stream I do get good ideas to put into other people trucks.

A little more progress, Cab is on the frame and as soon as we connect all the electronics up we can slide it into potion and bolt is down then start assembling the front end

Thanks,, I like the Danforth cross member because it uses S10 parts which are easy and cheap to get.

I used a Tbird rack. It took a little extra fab work but the travel is a little longer than a camaro

Re: 1949-50 3100

This is a rack install I did 10 or 12 years ago with the Tbird rack into a C10 front end it may give you an idea on whats all involved in adding a rack
http://www.thehollisterroadcompany.com/rackpinion.html

I don't remember the year of the rack but the part numbers are in the article
