Re: Project Beatrix

Just some random pictures of where she sits today. Still working on the cab, and bed. On top of getting my fuel system buttoned up and turbo manifold built. Like a never ending list of things to do!!!!

My buddy that painted my valve covers thought it would be funny to metal flake the inside of them!!!

Thanks Moose. Ya it's an 80e 2.5 diameter shafts. Front is about 17.5 inches and rear is 35 inches. The slip yoke is an out 6 inches. Works perfect for my setup.

Thanks Ryan. Ya my friends all think they are comedians, started with little d!cks cut out in my fuel cell and now twinkle paint in my valve covers. One thing is for sure if this thing was ever stolen I could prove its mine really quick with all the hidden stuff my friends have been doing.

At least they're hidden and not out in the open. It's pretty funny how friends show their appreciation at times.

Oh, and thanks for your help with the wiring on my swap. You've been my biggest help and I appreciate all of your guidance.

Yeah, been rehabbing the knee for the past 2 months. Had a minor setback but not a big deal. Haven't been able to work on the truck yet, hopefully soon. Thanks for asking.

Re: Project Beatrix

Started buttoning up so little things on the truck this weekend while the weather was abnormally nice here in Michigan.

Had a buddy come by and help me get my fuel lines started. Feed is done and return will be done today. 5/8 feed and 1/2 return.

Also dropped the pressure in my power steering pump to work with the Mustang II rack using the Borgeson kit.

Stock washer on the bottom, Borgeson on the top

Got the pump back on the block and made 2 AN lines for the feed and return.

Also started rebuilding my vent windows. This is what I started with. Pretty beat up, lower pivot was broken on one frame and the glass in both was from the 68-72 trucks.

Fixed the frames and had them powder coated also ordered the Precision seals from GMC Pauls.

Now I am just waiting for the glass shop to finish cutting the new glass to finish them up. The seals weren't fun but with a little patience they went in. I will say that the tool for the factory rivets that comes with the kit is only useful for the hinge rivet. The flat seal where the rest of the rivets are doesn't allow you to get a good hit on them because it is too wide. I ended up cheating and used pop rivets for this piece as I am not concerned with look over function

Can I ask where you bought the valve covers? Did you have to do any modifications to them?

Re: Project Beatrix

I bought them through Summit.

https://m.summitracing.com/parts/amd...uBMaApIT8P8HAQ

As for modifications I added an oil fill bung and cap and 2 -6an fittings for the pcv system. If you want more info let me know.
