Weight of '56 cab?

Does anyone know the weight of a '56 cab from a 1/2ton big window (gutted, no interior, no glass)? I'm trying to get some poeple together to lift one up onto a frame so I can bolt it down. I'm guessing it's around 400 lbs., because there doesn't look like there's much to it. Anybody know?

Thanks,
Kevin

I would estimate it at around 300lbs. I recently removed the cab of my small window 55 and it took 4 guys and one guy to line the dolly up underneath the cab. Two of us could lift it. but it was heavy and cumbersome to manuver. I would suggest welding in braces if the doors are off and glass is out. I took some 1.5" square tubing and welded in barces in the door frames. These cabs are just like the old 55-57 cars. the "A" pillars are very week. And prone to twisting out of whack. It will be really hard to get the doors to line up once this happens. just a word of warning. hope this helps you out.

I would also say 300-350lbs on the cab. I recently removed my 56 cab from the original frame. (doing it yourself is not easy, but it can be done safely.)

This weight is also stripped weight, no glass, no interior, no doors. Good luck on yours!
