70/71 Project "Charlie Good Time"

Ok where do I begin, I first got my 1970 C10 in 7th grade my grandfather passed away and then passed it on to me. It sat for several years (in a garage, no heat, cement floor) till I was a sophmore in high school. I drove it for about a year it was pretty rough not awful but pretty rough. Then it sat outside behind a barn, driven on occassion for about 5 years. Then I finally got it out and decided it was time for a restoration. ( at this point the condition was pretty severe, needed a new bed, doors, etc.) I began the teardown then I was called up for deployment overseas for OIF and it sat torn apart for a year. I got back home in January and I recently bought a 71 Custom Sierra C20 for parts, good deal actually, complete supposedly running truck, for a measly 500 dollars. Good bed, doors, tailgate, cab was very nice. But being that the 70 was my grandfathers truck I wanted to restore that one due to the sentimental value and all. But after my tear down I realized the frame and cab were to far gone. So I am now going to use my 70 to restore the 71. I figure my grandpa wouldnt want me to ruin a decent truck to fix a lost cause. Sorry its so long winded but want everyone to know the background of the project. Now for the stats on the truck and my future plans. Both trucks are V8 307's. 70 was a 3OTT, 71 Hydramatic. I plan on using the engine from my 70 due to the sentimental value and the memorys of wrenchin on it with my Gpa, and using the HM. As for the rest of the truck its still in the air, I want a classic look with modern enhancements, power locks, windows, disc brakes, EFI (possibly), navigation, etc. Dubbed Charlie Good Time. Well its late/early so thats all I have will post pics shortly. Would love some ideas and guidance. Thanks in advance Olechev.

Ok the green one is the the 70 before I started tearing it down and realized the frame was junk and cab needed so much work it was rediculous. The 2 tone is the 71 Sierra Custom. Not to shabby for 500.

I will post some up to date pics soon, right now the progress is the 70 is in pieces and the 71 is in the process of bein torn down so I can start tearing the frame down and getting it blasted. Below is current stage of the 70, minus the motor.
