1500hd

What are the differences between a 1500hd and a 2500hd? Just curious 'cuz I've had more luck finding 1500's than 2500's.

Re: 1500hd

The 1500HD had a lighter duty frame and suspension. Can't recall for sure but there might have been to gear ratio choices.
Still came with the 6.0L and the 4L80E,but had a lighter GVWR,otherwise truck is pretty much the same.

Re: 1500hd

The 1500HD's are the old 3/4ton frame setups like off the 88-99 trucks. They are just a lighter duty truck than the 2500HD's, but heavier than the 1500's. I have a 1500HD crew cab 4X4. We also have a 2500HD crew cab 4X4 with the duramax. You couldn't get the duramax in the 1500HD. Like stated above they are all 6.0's My 03 has 3.73's, but in 06 they went to 4.11's. The 1500HD's also didn't get the HD hood on the earlier trucks like the 2500 and 3500's did. That is just the few things that I know of. Not real technical, but I think you get the idea. Basically just an in between truck.
