1990 1500 v6

Hi,i have a 1990 1500 2wd v6 ,sometimes it just wont start,sometimes it will take 10-15 minutes before it will start,what could be wrong ?

Start with the basics,

Do you have a good spark out of the distributor?

Do you have fuel?

When is the last time you change the fuel filter? They can impede the fuel flow enough. It was one of those items I forgot about on mine and it ended up giving me some issues.

It may just need a good tune, Cap rotor, plugs wires...etc.


Intermittent issues are a pain to isolate.

just got this pickup,dont have any history on it,has good spark,is there a way to check fuel pressure,dont no anything about this v6,it starts alot of the time,but sometimes almost starts but wont,keep trying,letting it sit for a few minutes and try again,once it took 20 min before it started, thanks

changed the fuel filter,havent had any problems with not starting anymore,now on to the wiring problems.thanks
