Factory/Dealer install engine oil cooler

Anyone have pictures of the engine oil coolers available on 73-80 trucks? Thinking of adding one to my '74 and would like to see one so I know what to look for, I've only seen pictures in the accessories brochures but not one up close.

This is a pic of my 86 w/factory engine oil cooler setup from a 1990 Suburban. I haven't seen a GM style one for a 73-80 truck but maybe this gives you an idea. The aluminum lines have crimped hoses and they route to a sandwich adapter above the oil filed and have (2) 45-degree fittings in which the lines thread onto. Fel-Pro is the only company I know of that offers a universal o-ring repair seal kit for these GM style adapters. If you find one, I'd suggest rebuilding the sandwich adapter seals.

Here's the one from my truck. Remove the oil filter to access the two allen head bolts that hold the adapter to the block. There is also a mount at the front of the engine mount that stabilize the lines with a single bolt, 7/16 maybe. The soft lines pass through a 2x4 inch whole in the front cross member and then connect to the oil radiator.

O'Reilly's carries a general purpose oil filter seal kit that has about a half dozen rubber gaskets. One of these gaskets will fit the oil cooler adapter where it seats to the block.

Scroll ~1/3 of the way down to the parts catalogs on .pdf, look for Catalogs 51 & 51A.

On page 79 of 51A you'll find a picture and list of parts for the 1974-78 "CK" Gas Engine Oil Cooler & Related Parts. The numbers there reference the group number the parts are found in Catalog 51 under, can then find the part numbers.

I often flip through the parts catalogs to see what was/wasn't available. If you're not interested in 100% correct as the '74-'78 parts may be hard to find you've always got the later stuff to look for like gmachinz posted.
