'64 Cutlass 442 "Taking It Back"

Well, Just saw this forum and got put a thanks to the head cheeses in charge.
Nice addition..

Long story short, with some minor hiccups.
Around april I decided to have my 1 of 563 1964 cutlass 442 put back to its original color and have some body work done on it..
The car looked great from a distance and don't even think of asking if you could see in the trunk, because you would have seen ground..

It has gone from white with no original trim on the sides to original Regal Mist and in the process of putting the trim back on it this week..

Here are some photos.

Nice ! More pics? Use Chevelle rear trunk pans? I'm thinking through my daylight issues with my trunk floor.

Yeah he did.. I had some minor additional cost, but I got screwed so what was I suppose to do..

He fixed some minor things and s sticking around to help put it back together..

He wants to have all the work photos together for a portfolio for his shop.
He stated first 2 people I recommend and he does work on he will refund the cost of cutting and buffing... I have 4 guys that are waiting and know the background story.

We'll see..
Thanks guys..

As for trunk pans 64-67 trunk pans pontiac, buick, chevelle, olds are all the same.. I opted for the 3 piece set( i had the trunk pans in my garage from year one for about 10 years.. no kiddng)..but welded them and seam sealed it..

I had one of those in that color! We sold it in 1971. Awesome car! I have always wanted another.

Did it come from Idaho?

Re: '64 Cutlass 442 "Taking It Back"

She's Home... I still have interior to do, not sure what I want or when I'll have the cash...

As for exterior I have the front eyebrow chrome on order and need to TLC the taillight chrome and flitz the lenses..

I washed her.. Mequires Clay and detail spray, then neverdull and mothers mag and aluminum on the trim then hit the whole car with meguires NXT gen 2.0 wax...

2 days worth of detailing...

Re: '64 Cutlass 442 "Taking It Back"

Dang looks great ! I love the rocker moulding on the 64.
I've been told the 66 Chevelle rocker moulding will work on my 65.
We'll see.
Back to your car! Wheels, color, tires, trim it all works!

Thank you my fellow Wash-a-tonian.

I know I couldn't find another year GM car with the same rocker molding, at least aftermarket wise..I had my originals redone at a local metal shop.. from what they where before..They are 100+times better.. That's part of the reason there is no money for interior.. hahahaha.. Too much went to the trim to get straightened and polished..

Gorgeous car, I love the wheels.

I've always like the GM variants of cars of that body style.
