Do you have a 1972 Fremont built truck?

Asking in an attempt to narrow down the build month of my Fremont C30. The blue door VIN decal is gone (example below) and the date on the valve cover decal is also indecipherable apart from the year. My VIN ends in Z145444.

Any 1972 Fremont VINs with a corresponding known build month would be a big help. Thanks, Pete

Re: Do you have a 1972 Fremont built truck?

Thanks guys! The valve cover emissions decal has a faint but definite impression of the letter "M" that remains ahead of "1972". With what Tim has narrowed down, I suspect a March build on the truck.

Hmm, mine ends in z164xxx but my I believe my seat belts are date coded for August or September of 1972. I will have to take a closer look at the belts.

Re: Do you have a 1972 Fremont built truck?

5/72 - 165562

If you snap a pic of your emissions decal I can try some photoshop tricks with it. You can't even see the date on my blue sticker until I enlarged it and adjusted the levels, then I removed all the chaos around the numbers.

Smile Re: Do you have a 1972 Fremont built truck?

Here is some more data to help things along:
My '72 Highlander is a Fremont built truck
Build sheet shows 4-19-72 (....April 19th/1972)
VIN numbers are: 161544
...I imagine that the more data we have on this the more it can be more accurately estimated in cases of missing build sheets.

All Good

That is an early 72MY SPID, probably Aug 71. They started at 2Z100001. Is it posted to a thread as I'd like to see it?

Nice picture for sure, but I must confess its the SPID(data plate, build sheet, blue sticker, POP and any old docs) I want to see. Its all about the data for me and trying to make stockers whole like Pete is doing with this thread.

It would be nice to do this for all plants. Its all about the data. I don't mind compiling the known data if everyone is willing to share what we know factually.

Thanks! Data points are all good and the closer the better to our target 145xxx. Earlier I had interpolated a production of ~282 units a day. Need to do some more when time permits.... :-)

Re: Do you have a 1972 Fremont built truck?

so... as far as present-day data goes... anybody know how many Teslas are being put out per day at that plant now?

edit: Just read that they're producing about 1000 cars per week.

Many of the GM full size truck plants back in the day were 60 jobs per hour (so 960 trucks per day, for two 8 hour shifts of production).

45 jph was also another popular line rate (720 per day).

I think they also come with a button in the glove box for printing(printer mounted under dash) the car's build sheet whenever needed!
