Re: Agent Orange- My 1968 K20

When I first bought the truck I had a few ideas of some special places I wanted to take it and get the picture. And of course one of the very first places on my list was where it all began, back to the old dump truck. 1968 Chevy, meet 1968 Chevy

And while I was at my dad's farm, I thought a picture with the Big Allis would be in order as well (My 2nd favorite orange ride!)

Awesome truck man. That rear bumper looks great and way better than the old one. The story on the dump truck is cool also. Glad you found a truck you enjoy. Pics and always great.

Re: Agent Orange- My 1968 K20

Thanks guys for the replies. While on the subject of tractors, here is a model of my truck that I bought myself for Christmas, on the shelf with a model of my dad's Allis Chalmers 7045. On my dad's farm along with the Big Allis we run Case IH tractors, so this was just too perfect and I had to have it! I actually ordered this truck online from a shop in Italy as that was the only place I could find it!

Re: Agent Orange- My 1968 K20

Canada Day! This little orange trailer was just a rusty frame when my uncle gave it to me, long before I had the truck. I completely rebuilt it and I use it all the time. Sure looks good behind the ole '68!

Nice job on the dash! That looks pretty sweet! I noticed your steering wheel isn't period correct. Nothing wrong with that, but if I had the option of swapping a period correct one in I'd jump on it. It looks like you got one in the ole dump truck! Just do a little swap over one day when your dad is in the field. If he catches you just tell him you are putting in a Chevy steering wheel...

Re: Agent Orange- My 1968 K20

When I was in high school we had a couple of fourwheelers on our farm, and we were lucky enough to have some trails back behind our property that I used to spend a lot of time on. One of the trails was wide enough for a truck to get through, and went over these cool flat rocks. It had been at least 10 years since I had been up there and I knew I had to go back and take the truck- it was a beautiful sunny day when I did

Its funny that you mention that, because I just recently ordered the correct replacement steering wheel for the truck! I thought about using the one from the dump truck, but they're actually a different size. They are 18in across and the pickup truck steering wheels are 16.5in, so I figured it would be too big and I wanted the proper wheel. Once it arrives and I get it installed Ill post up some pics. Thanks for the input btw, I really appreciate it!

One of the things I love to do is go camping, and I have a favorite campground where I have gone with my family since I was a kid. Here's my truck and trailer at the main gates

Re: Agent Orange- My 1968 K20

I had an uncle who used to drive a tanker truck for Texaco back in the 70's, and he passed away when I was a kid. Because of this I have always thought that anything to do with Texaco is way cool. Someone built their garage to look like an old Texaco Service station, so of course I had to go there get a pic of my truck out front. Looks like a scene right out of the 70s! Note the old Ford step-side parked there on display, I believe it to be a '67 or '68.

Cool story about the dump truck. I still see those on the road around here from time to time. Your K20 is just about perfect. I'd love to have a 4x4 like that. Looks great!

Re: Agent Orange- My 1968 K20

Thanks everyone for all the replies, glad you're all enjoying the truck. I love to take it to cool/interesting places just to snap the picture with the old girl. Ive got some more pics coming soon, as well as some trips and some work planned on the truck in the upcoming year and Ill post up some pics up when I get a chance!

I am running BFG mud terrains, 35x12.5 on 16.5in rims. I believe the truck has a 4in lift (Installed by the PO)
