55 chevy interior ideas

Im restoring my 55 2nd series 3100 and was wondering what other year chevy interiors would fit into my truck or where would it be the best place to get an interior for my truck

upholstery is not an issue as my brother does hot rod interiors on a steady basis and does great work

any ideas would be greatly appreciated

Re: 55 chevy interior ideas

55-59 use the same cab, just change the front end for the 58-59.
gmc dash is different than chevy
other than that, same same inside with some subtle differences in heaters etc.
if the bro does interiors he should be able to set you up. get him to look at it and decide what he will need but you will need to know what you want as well. full door panels or shorties, full carper or rubber floor mat, power windows or window cranks, stock door handles or custom. bucket seats and console, split bench with arm rest or stock bench. that kinda stuff.

Re: 55 chevy interior ideas

I’m not QUITE ready to finish my interior - soon - but I’ll be doing semi-full door panels as shown in these pictures I think.

Personally, I wanted a ‘55-56 Car dash in my truck but didn’t want to spend the extra at the time. It’s possible I will do it in a future update though.

Re: 55 chevy interior ideas

Just throwing in an idea. I plan on installing these stainless steel strips into my cab interior step. I will not do the bow tie strip thing though.

Where do you get the step stainless strips? They look great!

Whew, $440 a side. They look nice and good workmanship, but... hmmm.

Re: 55 chevy interior ideas

The stainless looks great, but the price might be a little too high. $880 to do both sides? yikes.

Yeah, that's way too much. Plus, stepping on them WILL scratch them and that may be more noticeable than minor scratching on the paint. I'll probably either put the #M protective film on my steps or possibly just throw a piece of rug in there that can be swapped out periodically.

Re: 55 chevy interior ideas

Here's mine now that it's finished. I rolled SEM bed liner on the cab steps, it should stand up to normal wear and tear. Time will tell...

Black Sheep that is beautiful. I've been considering many of the same elements for my 57 that you used. Where did you get the engine-turned gauge panel? I'm still trying to visualize the right blend of custom/stock/hot rod for my interior and yours is right up that alley.

I made the panel out of .040 aluminum and covered it with engine turned vinyl
