1988 chevrolet R30

Scenario; i started my truck, put it in gear and immediately died. after trying to diagnose the problem i found that there was no gas, and my headlights didn't work. the motor cranks, and i have spark. I thought it could be the neutral safety switch, so i replaced it, but it didn't work. anyone have some insight?

Myself, I would start tracing out wiring for the headlights. They don't depend on the ignition.
Sounds like some major power link has let loose.

Re: 1988 chevrolet R30

fuse? for fuel? also for headlights?

( neutral safety switch).... if properly adjusted, the reverse lights should come on, shifted to reverse. ( one "click" makes a big difference)

Re: 1988 chevrolet R30

Might want to post this in the squarebody section 73-87 too. They might have the answer over there. 1988 R30 is a squarebody not a gmt400.
