Air conditioning

Anybody ever put a complete ac and heater box and parts from something newer in a 67-72? trying to find a way to have ac cheaper than a Vintage air system. I already have a 95 chevy serpentine system with compressor on my motor now
Thanks

Re: Air conditioning

I went that route with a Nova a few years ago, hunting down stock parts to turn my Non AC Nova into an AC car. Took a year to get everything and cost almost as much as if I ordered a kit. This time around with my C20,ordered a complete kit from Vintage air and had AC in a weekends amount of time.
Of course the thrill is in the hunt and a believe the 73-87? Chevy trucks carry what you need, with some work to your firewall. I may be mistaken, maybe someone else has more knowledge about this.
