The Corvette just dropped in my lap when I was looking at motor options for the truck. For less than the cost of an LS1/T56 combo I got the entire C4 with LT1/4l60e with running gear to match.

My buddy upgraded his C6 to use the Z06 brakes, so I will put his 12.8" Corvette script brakes on mine. They just happen to fit behind the 17" Z06 wheels on the Vette.

I will do the frame in the garage, but the truck is going to Albany to my buddies shop. Once the frame is ready for suspension and the body is done with paint, the frame and Corvette go to Albany for one big clusterf*ck assembly mission.

Should be interesting.

Is that McClinton527 in Albany?

Re: Meet Ginger.

Well, after Friday, I'm not sure what to think. Still waiting on the insurance to price everything out. From the looks of it, the passenger front suspension looks tweaked.

The body shop estimate was $12k just for fiberglass and related body panels, well over the total loss threshold. I figure the parts I want are worth about $1500. KBB lists it for $9500, so if the buyback is less than the parts I want, awesome. Otherwise I will get a cheap rig and send Porterbuilt some funds.

My head broke the $1500 roof.

Re: Meet Ginger.

For those interested, I hit gravel in the corner and ice on the exit. I might not have lost it if I would have had the traction control off. But I hit the ditch at a 45 degree angle doing about 35. It rolled once and stopped, still running. Didn't touch the passenger door or the roof. Only the front and rear panels on the passenger side.

I got a lump on the side of my head from the upper door frame, but that was it. Marceline rolled like a BOSS.

I found a cheap '93 2500 Silverado 4x4 I will look at this weekend. Just waiting on the final tally.

Re: Meet Ginger.

WOW DUDE... i'm so glad you're ok. i hate that sliding feeling when you know you can't save it. ice is the worst...

from the price that the body shop quoted it looks like you got a lot of vette parts for your build.

Re: Meet Ginger.

Thanks, fellas. It depends on what they want for the wreck. While I would love to use the parts like I wanted, either way I can't go wrong with a Porterbuilt setup. The C4 stuff is a lot more uncommon, but Nate's tubular control arms look good as hell, too.

If I don't use the Vette parts, it will still be nice enough for me.

Re: Meet Ginger.

Thanks fellas.

Just got a call from the insurance. They are doing a VIN and options check on the car before doing a market value. My car had every option short of the ZR1. There were only 422 '94 Corvettes with the FX3 suspension package and only 8 of those were white based on the research I did when I bought the car.

Re: Meet Ginger.

I've decided to not use it, took up too much space and took away from the rest of the interior. Besides, mounting it in the dash is so much better for using it, too.

Re: Meet Ginger.

Sorry to to see you wrecked your Vette. Hope you are ok...accidents can be scary!
As far as the truck goes I am liking the interior mods, your doing a great job!...being an audio and caddy guy as well! I have an 03 deville and all the time say I would love to put some seats like what are in my car in my truck....and I have seen it done and am going to go that route as well...plan on using the deville center has two compartments and turns into a seat for my little girl too! Keep up the nice work!

Re: Meet Ginger.

Thanks!

I was going to try and use the DTS center, but it's a little long and the F@rd seat actually looks like it might work out nice. Just like all my other projects, about 25% of my effort goes into building stuff I don't use.

I've made 3 different kick panel designs, 2 console designs and not using any of them. It's part of my design process. I have a blurry vision in my head of what it looks like and let it take shape organically.

Sometimes I wish I could be like the "pro" builders and have a clear vision of what I want from the start, but the journey is half the fun.

Re: Meet Ginger.

I am wondering about your seats. I am 6'3" inches and I was wondering how the seats sit in your truck? Are you able to see out the window without having to duck down. Im trying to mock up my interior right here soon. Thank you for your help.

Re: Meet Ginger.

Well, I'm 6'4" and have the seats adjusted most of the way down (I have the bottom lifted in the front a little for comfort) and haven't had any issues seeing. I only drove it for about a month with the seats in it before I started pulling the rest apart, but I love them.

They were a huge pain in my ass, but the end result is SOOOO nice.

Thanks. I got a deal on these because the drivers side bag had deployed. Just roll the bag back up and shut the door, seat is good as new.

I got them at LKQ.

Re: Meet Ginger.

That is awesome!! I checked out the website you mentioned and sure enough they had the seats. I was wondering are you able to tilt your seat back or can it only stay in the upright position? Sorry for all the questions. You just have an amazing interior!!

Re: Meet Ginger.

Thanks, I'll be happier when I get it all done.

The seat backs are tilted a little bit, but I also wanted as much leg room as I could get. They are fully adjustable with lumbar, everything works but the heat/cool (not hooked up to anything currently, might add that, too) and I don't have the memory module hooked up. So I can put them just about any way.

The drivers seat in the pics is pretty much how I will have it while driving, but adjusting the lumbar as needed.
