Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II

Went to the garage where I have my Highlander stored for the Winter and stood looking at the exterior for 5 minutes. I then opened the door and looked at the interior for another 3 or 4 minutes. Can't wait for Spring...

That's nice to hear. I have to do the same. Have yet to remove it.

Ordered a fuel psi regulator and fuel line and filter kit for the Edelbrock carb. Will try to remember to post pics when I get it installed. Gotta make a bracket for the regulator and figure out the plumbing first.

Took the original rear bumper to the local welder/fabricator today for a new look and function. Will post pics after. I replaced the original a few months ago with a newer "step-bumper" and really dont like it.

Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II

Just a quick wash and dog ride. But lets all understand one thing, it's really his truck. He only lets me drive because he would rather sit in back. If you got time for a quick story, this is true:

He is actually a well behaved dog. Never jumps on furniture, never jumps on people, does what he is told etc. He won't even jump into the truck until he is told to do so.

So, awhile back I started my truck to go to work. I forgot something, so I jumped out, left the truck running, ran into the house, grabbed whatever it was, and returned to the truck. When I got back to the truck, there he was sitting in the driver's seat. Not only that, but the other dog was in there with him. I was taken back a bit just because it was so out of his personality. Never had he (or the other one) gotten into the truck without being told and certainly never when I am headed off to work.

I scolded them a bit, told him to get out, put them back into the house, and headed off to work. Listening to the radio on the way to work, I actually hear the announcer say, "It is national take your dog to work day." Evidently someone told my dogs, and not me. What the....

The photo is funny because he won't come in while the truck is outside. Just hangs out on the road.

I blew a wad of money, put on a new gasket. LOL Also removed about 5 pounds of crud off the axle, so it should handle much better. Pebble Beach here I come!

Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II

Did next to nothing this weekend. What a waste. Pending receipt of casters for a hood bench. Though I did modify my heater hose config. for temporary. Other than that I blew another $200, for rally wheel centers and speed nuts.

Also discovered the starter on my 05 Tundra may be going out. Only 69K miles............It's $700 bucks to have done, and I won't touch it. If it were an old Chevy, that's 1/2 hour plus $60-70.......Not happy..............On another note, it was after its first night in the garage in three weeks (needed the space for the rebuild). When I kicked it out the battery problems began. Don't under-estimate the value of storing your vehicles in a garage, both mechanically and cosmetically.

Picked up some new wheels on Friday.

Pulled out the a/c (not factory) and all of the wires the previous owner installed to pull a trailer.

Finally got the hood hinges dialed in and I drove my truck for the first time in over a month.
