Does anyone know which brand wheel this is ?

I got these from a buddy that took them off his truck he inherited from his dad and he got some new ones but, he thinks they are centerlines or cragars he had some chevy knockoffs for center caps so there was no name brand on them and I dont see anything inside the wheel. I was hoping one of you guys could help me ID these...thanks for any help on this

Re: Does anyone know which brand wheel this is ?

Not sure on the brand but Id say they are late 80s wheels. When the countach style wheel was really popular. Wish I could help more.

Re: Does anyone know which brand wheel this is ?

I don't think it's a Centerline Champ 500 because they all had the Centerline stamped in the center section, and I don't think they built anything in uni-lug. It's not an American Racing Gambler I because they all had the size (i.e: 15x8) cast into the edge of the center section, and the rivets were smooth. Ultra made that style of wheel, as others did as well, such as Enkei.

What I do like about that wheel is that is has bolts, not rivets. Does it look like it's a 2-piece wheel from the back side? If it's a true 2-piece, then that wheel was a high-dollar item back in the day. I had a buddy who had a set of Joengblood (not sure on the spelling) wheels on his C-10 back in the 80s, and they look real similar to the wheels in your picture. Maybe that's what yours are.

Is there any casting marks or names in the backside of the wheel?

Looks like the gambler wheel off Jeep TJ's. Bolt pattern 5 on 4.5 maybe?

Re: Does anyone know which brand wheel this is ?

It is not a true 3 piece, and its not a Centerline. Looks like a Prime or an Ultra wheel to me.

Re: Does anyone know which brand wheel this is ?

Just because the bolts go all the way through doesn't make it a 3 piece wheel. It looks very much to be a simple cast wheel due to the Uni-Lug fitment. If your buddy thinks they are worth 300 each sell them to him and run away quickly. They "might" be worth 30 each if they had center caps.

On the open market, a cast 15" wheel with from the 90's with no hardware doesn't have much value. If you like them they are worth what your willing to give.

Re: Does anyone know which brand wheel this is ?

its a very very old american racing wheel or Keystone. I dont think that its a cragar but may be because of the lug nut style.... they take a magshank lug with an oblong washer that allows the lug nut to seat. you might be able to get a push thru center cap at a local Discount Tire Co.

Re: Does anyone know which brand wheel this is ?

I know this is an old thread...but I ran across it doing a Google search.

The wheel you have IS A Cragar wheel and is their knock-off of the Centerline Champ 500. They came in only a couple of sizes....the most popular was the 15X8.5 ones that looks like yours.

In the back of the wheel this should be stamped.

I have two of these wheels for my '80 SE Trans Am and have been searching for 2 more for over 2 years now.

And you may or may not have got took by your buddy....I gave $50 for the pair I have, but I have seen whole sets sell for $200-$375 lately.

Also Progressive Wheels (no longer in business) made/copied this wheel for a very short period in the early 80's.....but I have only found one of those...and it was cracked.

Based on the picture you posted, that is NOT the same wheel as pictured by the OP. Look at the direct fit, vs uni-lug pattern. Then compare the lips. Your are machined to a clean line, the OP's wheels have rounded edge lips. NOT the same wheel.

You are right N2....looking closer....

But they ARE NOT Centerlines. Centerline Champ 500's have 28 smooth rivet heads, no raised lip for external center cap and stamped their name in the front face like this pic.

There is also American Racings version called The Gambler.

Cragar had 2 different versions on the same wheel. Like mine with 24 rivet heads and raised center (like a snout) for the Cragar center cap

And just like Cragar S/S's, they came in BOTH direct bolt pattern and Uni-lug.

I have since found that Cragar also made an all-steel version (then chromed). They also had two different rivet head ones....smooth head (like mine) and allen head ones.

Re: Does anyone know which brand wheel this is ?

several company's made rims like that. the slotted lug nut hole means is NOT an o.e. wheel. Cragar wheels usec a large diameter offset washer, old ET wheel used a oval washer that set into the rim with a conical seat, offset to match whatever bolt pattern needed. because of the way the lug is recessed, to me, it looks like an old set of ET wheels. ET and Keystone merged in the 80's. Both were owned by Kelsey Hayes.
