Turn Signal switch housing
Stupid question but I have been fighting with this turn signal switch housing for a while now and I can't seem to get it back on. Anyone have any tips?

They can be a little fussy sometimes. Here's a thread I did a while back when I was working on my column:

So I guess I lied. The housing will not go down all the way as you can see in the picture. Also I can turn the housing by hand with everything installed and the shift indicator is way off. Any idea on what I can or should do to get this correct. I have been at this for two days now and its pretty frustrating as this should be a pretty straight forward job. Any help is appreciated.

Looks like the rubber spacer is causing it to sit uneven for some reason.

In your first picture you can see the rubber cone shaped washer, it's sitting out too far, it rests on a white plastic washer that has an outside key way, I bet the plastic washer is not located in the outer column slot.
Which I assume prevented engagement of all 3 tangs on the turn signal switch cover to the outer column. |
