Couple of questions

Almost at the point of dropping the engine in and like a knuckle head, I forgot to take pics of the engine stands.
Question #1
Are the stands displayed in there correct position for a 350 engine 350 trans in a 69 swb truck? These are v8 stands. The truck originally had a inline six with 3 speed manual. I may run a HEI so I like the fact of having space between the firewall and distributor but, if I can avoid having the driveshaft shortened or lengthened I can run a points type distributor. Anyone have any experience with this?

Question #2
Is the trans crossmember installed correctly as well?

And for extra credit, this is not important but has me curious what in the world is this thing plumbed in front of the prop valve?

Thanks, huero.

Re: Couple of questions

Those small block motor mount stands are in the correct location. As for the trans mount, I don't know, but it looks like it's aftermarket to me. Which trans are you going with now?

Re: Couple of questions

If you want to use a 3 speed manual driveshaft, and your TH350 is the "short" version (about 27"-28" from bellhousing face to rear seal), mount the engine brackets in the rear set of holes. However, I can tell you for certain that the crossmember in your pic never came stock with a 69 manual transmission.

What engine/transmission/driveshaft was in the truck when you got it?
