Outside mirror glass only replacement.

The glass on my driver's side mirror is broken, the rest of the mirror is in good shape. I noticed I can buy only the mirror glass instead of the whole mirror.
How hard is it to replace only the mirror glass? Does it just snap into place?

Re: Outside mirror glass only replacement.

The mirrors on your Suburban are glued in. I believe the factory used silicone to glue them in.
Make sure to clean off old silicone. If your mirror is just cracked, you'll need to bust it out.
Safety glasses and a good pair of gloves are in order.

You could also have a local glass shop replace it for you. Should cost about $ 30.00 to $ 35.00
including cost of mirror.

Thank you, for the how to. I feel pretty comfortable doing this myself now.
Any advice on what type of silicone?
