I agree the are scumbags, liars etc. I wasn't looking to gouge anyone just fair settlement. I'm netting $6000 more than I paid but not enough for a comparable one. I felt lawyering up would cost me more than it was worth.

Lawyering up with Allstate? You will get better results repeatedly hitting your head against a brick wall!

Re: Insurance woes after hit and run

I've been thinking about this whole scenario. I wonder if you sold your K5 after the crash and before they settled with you and screw up the title? Sell it to an out of state friend! I don't think they could change the title after you already sold it out of state. Nothing says you have to wait for closure with the insurance co. to be able to sell it! Think about that for a while. Remember, you own the car, they don't

You may have done the best thing by just replacing the blazer. Move on to another one and not fool with insurance and title issues at resale, etc.
That looks like a real straight 'burb, 4wd too. Think of it as a bigger blazer eh?

Ah, another guy in the same predicament as you. And salvage title. Be a good idea to ask your DMV and insurance agent what troubles a salvage title will cause you before putting even more money into it.

My experience with my insurance company was no difference in the cost, after my son got hit, and his car was totaled. Of course, in that case, he was also not at fault. He had a Top Banana yellow Dodge Dart. The police officer at the scene actually asked the guy who hit his car if he had been drinking, when he said he "Didn't see" my son's car. You could see that thing coming from a mile away.

Re: Insurance woes after hit and run

Insurance adjusters are crooks, paid to save the insurance companies money, plain and simple.

Hope you were treated right when it was all said and done.

That burb was on my local CL. Looked real clean and the price wasn't bad either. Hope you enjoy it!
