Saginaw speedo problems

I have a saginaw 3 speed that was converted from three on the tree to three on the floor and it doesn't look like my speedometer cable is going to work there without it getting kinked. The shift linkage is in the way. Anybody else having this problem or found a way to fix it?

Re: Saginaw speedo problems

I had that same problem.
Easy fix is a ratio adaptor.
Look here.

Re: Saginaw speedo problems

Did you use the 90 degree adapter? Looks like that's what is going to be best for my application. Thanks for the info!

Re: Saginaw speedo problems

Just repaired my speedometer cable because of this very reason. On mine though I routed it on the other side of the bracket (or lever, can't remember) and it's ok now. The strange thing is it was kinked pretty hard and it worked like that. It just eventually broke the speedometer cable core.
