un even tire wear question?

84 k10, half ton rears. im getting some real bad tire wear on the front left. i need to get it solved just to hold me over, im in the process of getting all the parts for a one ton conversion, but anyway, the front left is wearing down badly on the inside of the tire. im guessing its a ball joint, the upper ball join was replaced with a moog one when i have to heat the spindle up to put the lift steering arm on, upper was replace maybe 2-3000k miles ago, the hub is nice and tight with no play in it. does it sound like its my lower ball joint? any other suggestions?

thanks.

Re: un even tire wear question?

If your ball joints are tight then it's most likely your toe. I'd get that checked.

Re: un even tire wear question?

If the toe is off, the truck will wander all over the road. It may accelerate tire wear but it should be fairly even on both.
It is possible that the wear is caused by the lower ball joint, or that the spindle is bent (or not seated properly).
Can you see the tire tilt inward by eye?
