Truckseats ... Better member options

I hope Im not out of line on this. Board member Truckseats has not logged in to the board for just shy of a year. There are numerous threads about problems getting seat covers from him.

I have zero beef with him, I even purchased a cover or two from him early on. From everything I understand from folks that know him personally he is a really good guy. I believe his problem stemmed (from threads Ive read) from his supplier. Zero fault of Truckseats. It sucks for him because we had a good thing going with him as supplier here on the board.

If you go to his user CP there are numerous posts of people asking him for covers with no response. I see people recommending him for covers even today.

I really hope things work out for him, but maybe recommend others? Here are a few board members that deal in covers, I know people have had good luck with them. I recently purchased a dark green Cheyenne Super bench cover from t korinek. The process went smooth as butter.

The key is buying one that is already made and in stock, ready to ship. The manufacturer is the problem, not the retailer. If it’s not in stock, forget it.

He hasn't logged in for a year, so not sure what you read. If you contact one of the members I listed any one of those fellas are ready and willing to help you out. If they don't have what you are looking for I bet they could help you in the right direction.

He never made them to begin with. He sold “Truck World” brand seat covers which were stiched up (manufactured) by a guy named Larry in Missouri. From my understanding, this guy Larry is the whole key to the problem...making promises and setting timelines that he cannot keep. The retailer passes on these “promises” to customers and then takes the grief when the product is not delivered in the timeframe promised.

Re: Truckseats ... Better member options

leddzepp you hit the nail on the head. I recently helped a member with upholstery for a K5 Highlander. Product was paid for in January and shipped in April. I help Larry with Truck World when he reaches out to me or someone is looking for help with upholstery that they are having a hard time getting or that Truck World specializes in i.e. Highlander, Sandalwood, Fawn. If any of you are needing help PM me.

Re: Truckseats ... Better member options

Thought I would bring this back to the top again since Ive seen more threads recommending Truckseats. I learned a little more about the whole situation. Bummer all around.

So if you have purchased repro covers that you are super happy with post up where you got them. Im actually in the market myself now for 71 stock black bench covers and matching door panels. Not 100 percent sure on the style yet, just not houndstooth.

Re: Truckseats ... Better member options

After batting 0-for-3 with Truck World's various distributors over the course of two restorations I just ordered what is available in the Classic Industries catalog for restoration #2. I received the seat skins and door panels in a week with no heartburn, excuses or elevated blood pressure.
