Upper A arm Questions.... Need Help!!

I am re-assembling my 71 C10 and have run into a problem. The main problem is that I have a truck that some one else took apart and did not organize or keep track of things well.

Heres my problem, I will try to explain it. On the front end where the upper A arms, cross shaft mounts to the frame. There are 2 studs that go thru the frame and cross member and the cross shaft mounts to it, where the shims go. I have a box of washers but they do not appear to be the correct ones, can anyone tell me what type of washers are correct to go with the shims between the cross shafts and frame??

Thanks in advance, hope I explained that right.

The washers that go on the studs are splined to fit onto the base of the studs as the come through the crossmember. These were pressed on and unless you removed the studs. Shims go next to these (between the washers and the cross shafts).

The splined washers are flat on the black sid and tappered on the front.

I hope that is what you are talking about.

Are we talking about the rectangle shaped spacers that are cupped (convex) on one side, and flat on the other? If so they go between the A-arm center bar and the shims. The center bar holes are concave on one side. That's where these spacers go. Visually it should be obvious - the curvature of the spacer and the center bar are the same. The center bars have to be flat on the side where the shims go, so those spacers provide the flat surface required.

The other side of the center bar is where the nuts for the studs go, so don't get the bar backwards. LMC Truck sells the spacers. Don't laugh, but I actually scrubbed mine down and painted them to match all the other parts.
