Keep or send back?

I purchased this new brake booster setup for my 69, but I don't like the way it looks! It looks like it hangs way out in the engine bay. I'm thinking of ditching the bracket and drilling new holes to get this closer to the firewall. Anyone else have this set up?? Not sure what I should do at this point.

Re: Keep or send back?

Looks like the c20 brake boosters, I have one like it in my truck and I hardly ever notice it. To each their own though, if you don't like it make it less profile like you mentioned!

I have a similar set up with an original booster on mine.

Sweet headers!

Re: Keep or send back?

No bigger than the factory setup on mine! Comes all the way out to the end of the valve cover like yours. I wouldn't go off on a tangent trying to reinvent the brake linkage and brackets, just from a safety perspective.

One of the benefits of a roots blower is no one is looking at your brake vacuum booster.

Re: Keep or send back?

You going to make enough vacuum to power the booster with set up? Or are you going to run a vacuum assist pump? Just curious.

Re: Keep or send back?

Maybe the thoughts of a hydro boost set up, that is a two bird killing setup in your case. Bird one better braking and bird two you don't have to think about the booster sticking way out there. From the side it kinda looks like the brake set up is racing the motor to get to the core support first
In all seriousness the hydro boost may be the ticket.

Once the front clip is on it won't be that noticeable.

If you keep the hood down you'll be fine. LOL

My brake booster is off an old Nova, it looks massive and the lines are crazy looking!

Re: Keep or send back?

The guy that owns Cloud 9 did that... I was going to do it also and he stated it doesn't work well... looses ALOT of brake pedal and decreases stopping power...
