1990-1991 oil pressure switch?

I'm using a '90-'91 Suburban/Blazer gauge cluster on my build. I was intending to use the classic metal canister-type oil sensor, but I see that RockAuto is listing this black plastic sensor instead, for these last couple years of Suburban/Blazers.

RockAuto sells two styles; a long one and a short one. The short one is listed for use with a light, and the long one(pictured) is intended for use with a gauge. I like this style of sensor better because, with the right pigtail, I can clip the wire in place, instead of relying on a friction fit like the old style.

Are there any drawbacks to using this style of sensor? Do they have any longevity problems, etc? Do they definitely interface correctly with the 90-91 cluster?
