Re: Power Steering Adapter Plates

I really know nothing about those generator/power steering pump combos. I would think it would work as long as it is working properly. I'll send you a PM with ordering and payment info.

Re: Power Steering Adapter Plates

Hi Capt. It's time for me to redo the PS update on my 66 C-10. The PO made a rather crude attempt at it and I need to clean it up a bit. He probably didn't know about your bracket. I believe that all I will need is just the plate and hardware but you might send me info on the tube and flange as well.

Thanks,
Bob...

Re: Power Steering Adapter Plates

No, the tube and flange does not have to be welded to the steering column shaft. It would be perfectly acceptable to drill thru both the tube and the shaft inside of it and install either a 1/4" or 5/16" grade 8 bolt.

Re: Power Steering Adapter Plates

Does anyone have the pattern/template to install the power steering box in relation to the old holes? It would be nice to double check my work before I drill the holes. I would really appreciate it

My steering box adapter plate comes with a template to position the plate in the correct location.

Re: Power Steering Adapter Plates

I know your plate is very nice just don't have the money right now. I already made a plate that places the box away from the frame and has the bolt hole layout of the box, just need to get it in the right position and drill my holes.

Re: Power Steering Adapter Plates

If I were to use the adapter plate will I run into any issues not being able to fully turn to the right, will the tire hit the steering box? Will I have any issue adjusting the alignment?

Re: Power Steering Adapter Plates

Regardless whether you use my adapter plate, one of the others on the market or the one you make, the turn to the right will be less than the turn to the left. It is just the nature of the installation. This is easily corrected during an alignment. No the right tire will not hit the steering box unless you have a very wide wheel with a deep backspacing. This power steering conversion has been done successfully thousands of times.

Re: Power Steering Adapter Plates

Any install pictures on a 60-62? I'm having a tough time with the CPP kit and haven't committed to installing it yet. I have the box and shaft end, but I could go either way on the bracket.

Re: Power Steering Adapter Plates

Ok, thanks. I am going with my homemade bracket, just have to figure out where to position it and drill the holes so the pit-man arm is in the right place, its not the space shuttle right?

Re: Power Steering Adapter Plates

I do have some installed pics of the '60-'62 kit that I make. My products are not just a copy of someone else's product. My steering box adapter plates are a bit different than every other one on the market. So the pics of mine installed will likely not work with another brand of steering box adapter plate.

Re: Power Steering Adapter Plates

I received a couple blank PM's and an email from you? I assume that the payment I received from someone for a steering box adapter plate for a '67 K10 was you. There was no info with the payment to connect the person's real name to your user name here.

Re: Power Steering Adapter Plates

I went back and looked. Your replies are hidden in the midst of my PM's to you. I do not have time to reread all of every PM I receive to determine what is old and what is a new message.

I will weld up a steering box adapter plate and ship it to the address on PayPal.
