Air over leaf with C notch

Hi All, Looking for some advice on doing my first air suspension installation. I'm going to be putting air springs over leaf springs after removing 6 of the original short leafs, leaving the 3 longer leafs. It's a 1964 GMC Suburban, with a 1980 front crossmember and rear axle with the axle flipped on top of springs. It also has a C notch kit (bolt in kit but welded as well). My questions is, with the air springs being designed to be placed behind the axle, and the back side of the frame behind the C notch, does this present any kind of problems? Is the strength of the rear frame compromised because of the C notch kit and will the springs stress the frame at all being that the back part of the frame will now be carrying some of the weight. My thought is the rear of the leafs already carry some of the weight so it shouldn't matter, but I figured I'd rely on the 'been there, done that' experts for advice. Thoughts?
