Re: pto winch

Yes you can, just need to find the proper PTO for a 203 case. I don't think the gear mesh is the same between a 465 PTO and a 203. Find a dealer that deals with PTO's, they will be able to tell you.

Re: pto winch

If you are looking for a pto unit to fit a np203 check out Parker/ Chelsea. A serch and you can downloat there applications manual. it will list the transmission types and the drive gear rquired. The PTO port is a standard S.A.E. 6 bolt as most transmissions have, but the drive gear is diffrent to most transmissions and the proper gear will be needed. If your main transmission is an automatic you will run into the problem of gear clash when you engage the PTO. The best way to run a front mounted PTO winch is to have a manual transmission with a reversible type PTO unit. A winch must be able to wind in an out. Also if you put a single speed pto in the transfer case and think you will use the transmission for reversing the worm and gear must be of the right type (left or right worm) for the winch to wind in with the transmission in a forward gear. All these thing complicate issues as to why most people just get an electric winch, even if a good PTO drive winch will make any electric winch look like a little toy.
