Non-EFI Boyds tank converted to EFI

Anyone else do this? I found a post by vannatta20 doing this, but was wondering if anyone else has attempted and their feedback.

Seems like a good way to save quite a bit of money versus the additional $300 from Boyd for an EFI setup.

I converted my non-EFI boyd's tank to EFI. If I had it to do over, I would spend the additional $300.

Since they construct all the tanks with the same internal baffling, should work out fine. That's the plan anyway..

I'm sure those kits get the job done, but keep in mind that at least half the extra cost is the Aeromotive fuel pump they put into the EFI verison. Not sure what type of pump some of those kits come with, but the few examples I have seen appear to be generic-no-brand pumps. Whether that's good, bad, or immaterial is your call as I haven't used them, just thought it was worth noting.

Anyone make an adaptor for a Boyd tank to run a stock vortec pump? Seems the aeromotive pump adaptor looks like something to work off of

The good thing about running a factory AC delco pump is it is dependable and does not require a baffle. It has a bucket that the fuel pump resides in and uses a venturie system that keeps the bucket full of fuel. You can use a truck pump and cut the rods down to save some money$$

On the new Boyd tanks how would you make something to use the stock pump lockring?

We just tapped the aluminum tank to hold the lock ring tight. If you guys want I can have some rings cut from a plasma table. Then you just bolt the ring down.

I like the GM fuel pump/buckets too, they work great. As a side note, not sure how deep the tanks you're using are, but a Tahoe pump from the same year is shorter than a truck one.
