Re: american autowire classic update vs factory fit

I just finished doing my 69. If it is a part # 510089 kit its the right one, the dash harness has all the wires for everything in the dash so it is going to look like a lot of wires. Just take it slow follow the sheets and it will tell you exactly what to do and what wires and fittings you will and will not need. It is a very easy yet very tedious job but is doable and worth it. I took my sweet time and did it in about a week, but if you really hit it hard you could do it an a weekend. let me know if I can help but AAW tech is awesome and really has helped me, give them a call as well!!

I will call them thanks. That is the kit I have. Confused what the "gage cluster" piece is. Basically 3 harnesses route to a "D" plug you build. Not sure where that goes
. I am sure they will clarify. Thanks!

Yes its real easy, I believe there is one that is purple and yellow that is for electric speed sensors or speedo or some such thing but I doubt you have it. So you will take the gauge cluster plug they give you and use the sheet and match the wire colors to the plug and it creates your dash harness plug that connects to the back of your cluster and the other end to the remaining 2 plugs from the large dash harness.
