Re: 69 cst-10

got some frame braces in so i can weld in my Watts link setup. Some of the thickest stuff i have welded on with my little Hobart 140.
The welds penetrated better then the bottom pic shows. these are just behind the rear axle where the Tabs weld up to.

Re: 69 cst-10

Worked on assembling the rear end today and i had an extra hand which i really appreciated. If it were not for her small fingers i would have had a hard time getting some nuts on. Made her do some of the dirty work cleaning out the inside of the housing. Got it all complete untill i realize that i forgot something.(third pic) so had to take it back apart and do it right.

Re: 69 cst-10

It is a 3.70 so it is somewhat easy on the highway. Would have liked to go with 3.89 or 4.11 but it will see more street then track. As it is she drives the Dodge Ram and i ride the Buell daily so i am anxious to get another vehicle on the road.

Re: 69 cst-10

Got my sway bar problem worked out. Problem was i mounted it to the frame first. I now mounted it to the Control arms and then found out i need to drill some new mount holes on the frame. Also a rough ride height. I still need about 2-300lbs more on the front so will drop about another inch.

Re: 69 cst-10

I have no idea of what it was in. The guy that built it for me just had about 20 blocks in his shop at various stages of builds. I went to talk to him about building me a 383 @ 500hp. He told me that the 350 block i had would not work to well for that due to it being a replacement block that was cast in mexico. He had a 400 block (he said the good casting) sitting there and said he could build me a 415 or 434. We talked about a rough build price. Then he said you know for the same price or cheaper I can build you this. Then I saw that Big block and without hesitation I said OK.

Re: 69 cst-10

well desprate times call for some hard decisions. Caifornia likes to screw people during tax time and im looking to buy a house and get married. I am seriously thinking about selling my project. Either just the engine or the whole thing. I am not sure just yet due to me knowing i will lost some serious money if i sell any of it. It is getting hard to sleep because i do not want to do it but almost no other choice. this sucks.
