Sorry, but this amuses me ...

When a new member, or old for that matter, gets upset about rules that have been around forever, and have agreed to abide by when they sign up. They get upset and state they will be going elsewhere … Good Day Sir!

I cant figure out why they don't they just plain ol stop coming here without the announcement?

I know what you mean. Some guys “get all up in their feelings” then want to leave.
It’s easy to say you’re gonna break away but they stick around. It’s an entitlement thing I think.
Funny none the less.

I think they need to give themselves a "time out" before posting that. Go to their corner of the ring and get toweled off between rounds. This too shall pass are true spoken words.

Yep. The unfortunate thing is that thread is useful and has good info only to be distracted from by the dopiness. Is dopiness a real word?

I agree it seemed whiny. But I also think we need to give people a little patience. If all someone knows is facebook and other free sites, it may seem odd to them. Now I'm whining about the whining about the whining... lol!

Then again, there are members who leave because of bad behavior of others and are a great loss to the forum. I'm thinking specifically of Clinebarger, but I'm sure there are others.

Like Thumper's dad said, "If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all."

^^^^ Definitely.

Still remember his avatar was the "Hydramatic" logo. Guy was a transmission wizard.

I don't understand the need to announce one's departure,

I have noticed the FB personalities creeping in here. We never demeaned someone personally for asking a question., but lately It seems a facebookesque (smartass answer) will pop up.

I was trying to out do kingsolver by making up the facebookesque word.

Re: Sorry, but this amuses me ...

This thread and the idea of announcing one's exit reminds me of a foreman that I worked for 30 some odd years ago..

Without fail, at least once every couple of weeks something wouldn't go his way and he'd start announcing his imminent exit and how the company was gonna go belly up without him.

This went on for a couple of years so us apprentices just kinda got used to it. We didn't have any say anyways but the guy was kind of a bear to work for. Always moaning that he didn't get the new truck, or he got used tools on the job or we were sent cheap material. He'd get himself worked up and say he was gonna drag up if the injustices kept up. Yet when the owner showed up on the job, everything was going perfect. Us apprentices used to chuckle under our breath knowing that although the owner was a pretty cool guy, if he had heard half of the trash this guy was runnin his mouth about he'd send the guy packin.

This one day, this guy is running his mouth at break time when the owner comes to check on the job. He had heard just enough as he walked up to grant the Foreman his wish. He turned him to cash within 20 minutes.

Needless to say it also was pretty amusing in a sort of twisted kind of way.

I didn't know about the issues Cline was having. It sucks that a good, helpful, and knowledgeable person left due to one jerk. But I also think it sucks to hold the whole website accountable for the actions of one. He's a busy man but has time for other forums? Like I said, I don't know any details, but a man has to have thick skin in this world today.

There are trolls everywhere on the net , The shame of losing good people is it can be avoided . By just the shear number of people , The staff can't be all places . If a troll had been reported the staff could have prevented the troll from going any further ..

Some inside baseball stuff ... trolls and jerks seem to flare up worse 3 days before and after a full moon . that sounds weird but I have seen it .

I cant say I blame Cline..but anybody who spends time on multiple sites, helping people work thru issues, is to great of a asset to lose because of some idiot...
some of the comments made by that person were below the belt..I know it was reported by a few other members...I dont know the behind the scenes of complaints...and how they are handled..

Maybe I wasn't a staff member at that time. I sure never knew a thing about it until this thread. I certainly would have given this troll a dose of enlightenment had I known. And if that didn't work, we would have been minus one member and it wouldn't have been Cline.

I didn't know about the incident that spurred this thread until I went looking. If he hasn't already left, I left him a post of clarification and enlightenment.

To one and all, feel free to PM me with any such issues. Or the moderator of your choice, for that matter.

Re: Sorry, but this amuses me ...

I saw the thread that initiated this one. I just shrugged my shoulders and thought that going away mad from the best site on the net for these trucks is a bit immature, but oh well.

I'm a member of a number of forums of a wide variety. Hunting, fishing, this one, etc. Doesn't matter the subject, there are those that actively want to stir up trouble, are the expert at everything, or cannot contribute anything but snide or sarcastic comments. I do my best to roll with it and not engage because I know its the anonymous quality the internet and a keyboard offer over face to face conversations.

Oh, I've gotten disgruntled a time or two in the past 15 years. Knee jerk reaction may have been "I'm outta here" at first, but I never announced it. Letting it marinade a minute helped me realize "I'm not going to let what one person does come between my my enjoyment here, the trucks I've loved and rarely had anyone to share that with, and all the good friends I have here from all over." Talk about a network. This site is the net within the net.

Ok, that's it. I'm going to leave this website to go make a sandwich!!

In the begining, everyone here was just a bunch of ones and zeros (Binary) but as I've come to know members both online and in real life, I've determined most are worth my time and effort. The ones who aren't get little of my attention. Those who remain ones and zeros just aren't worth losing those who have become friends.
