That’s the only reason I haven’t done a LS swap on mine yet. The guidelines I can find are the simple and easy stuff like engine can’t be older than the vehicle, emissions equipment for that year engine must be in place, etc. That’s the easy stuff.

Finding out if the inspection machine reads things like make or model that would fail the inspection is proving difficult. I doubt they considered engine swaps on ODB2 vehicles. I’ve thought about buying a donor GM truck, having the Toyota vin flashed in and trying to get it inspected as my Toyota but that could be a costly experiment for me and the shop I take it to. Should’ve got the 4cyl, the v6 in my Tacoma gets v8 gas mileage and I like the truck so it’s like, might as well just put a v8 in it. Haha

In the late seventies early eighties getting a title and license here became difficult.

in the late nineties the governor cleaned up the revenue system and getting a license and title is easy now.
