Re: off it goes

Read thru this whole thing today. Incredible truck Chrome. If I just saw the finished product in one of the magazines, I don't think I would believe my eyes or trust the pictures. Seeing it in process says the metal really is that good. Your guy is more than a fabricator - he's almost a healer of metal parts. Thanks for sharing your build!

He is paying you the ultimate compliment. He said "If I just saw the finished product in one of the magazines, I do t think I would believe my eyes". I feel the same way. We are getting to see all the real work going into your truck as it is happening .When you see a finished product in the magazine you have to wonder if the work is really that nice. With your truck theres no guessing. It's that top notch.

Re: off it goes

sorry, I miss-read it....I do appreciate all the great compliments on the truck. You're absolutely right the metal fab guy is unreal, I'm a very fussy person and stickler for details and just when think it's perfect he improves on it even more. It's been a long road and I know not near as long as some builds, but it's had it's ups and downs, I've been frustrated several times and even thought I had it sold once. We are in the booth but it's still a ways to go yet....but the light at the end of the tunnel is slowly get closer.....Thank God, lol

Re: off it goes

All good. Fun to watch. Hang in there. I understand the idea of being more excited about the process than the finished product, but this will be one to spend some quality time with in its completed state. I'm sure a lot of us would like to see you continue this thread when it's done - pics of it out and about.

Re: off it goes

This is an amazing build is all I have to say to start off. it makes me want to completely redo my truck though it's "finished".
I do want to know how you guys cleaned up the door gaps though on page 21.
currently working on a 78 c10 with my dad and would sure love to make it more appealing. also have you guys been able to get the doors to close on it with ease?
Thanks guys and once again what an amazing truck!

Re: off it goes

Cool! I was wondering how you were fastening those under-hood panels.

Awesome build..., I just got finished reading the whole thing. Mast Motorsports in right down the road from me, so that is really cool to see his stuff in your build.

Re: off it goes

thanks guys...I appreciate it, not many pics to show lately. Just fine tuning gaps under the hood and then time for a little more primer. Doing a little arts and crafts as well....making some templates so I can draw them in autocad and get them laser cut and cap the holes at the front of the hood

You used to be regular on maliburacing, huh? Had/have a black wagon? At least that's where the screen name looks familiar from...

Re: off it goes

That's too bad. I got out of the g bodies myself... For now anyway. Still into drag racing, but just now really getting into the truck scene. I just picked up an 85 short wide, we also have a 66 suburban we picked up last summer, and a 91 crew cab dually... I have got the bags and everything for that already. It should get pretty interesting

Re: off it goes

haven't had many pics to post lately just due to the fact we are in the boring body and primer stages, I did get the brushed stainless rings finally designed and laser cut. Now we just have to add stainless mesh to them, going to paint them the same color as the truck. As simple as these look they were a pain in the neck. Thee holes are not square so one end of every hole is narrower than the other

Re: off it goes

also been toying with the idea of switching wheels, I love the billets on my truck and think they will be cooler once the 14" Wilwood brakes are on, but really loving these rallies as well....So I had to do a little Photoshop to see. It didn't really help an because I still can't make up my mind, lol
